Wayzata Children’s Clinics (WCC) contacted Su Casa Redesign because they wanted seasonal decorating performed at their three locations. WCC has three lovely clinics with nice waiting rooms, but felt there was not enough personality in the waiting areas and wanted to make it more inviting for their young patients and their parents.
The WCC did not want holiday decorations, but rather fall, winter, spring and summer. Since they encourage activity with the children Karen, from Su Casa Redesign (SCR), suggested an ever-changing wreath in each space that reflects the colors and sports of the season. Another guideline to follow was the decorations had to be high up, secured well and generally “kid proof” as many of the young patients are curious climbers.
In September the SCR team decorated each clinic with fall color in garland, pumpkins, bittersweet, leaves, lights and even a cornucopia. Grapevine wreaths were adorned with fall sport accessories, along with scarecrows and fall ribbon.
Luckily, the Minnetonka and Chaska location fish tanks have space above for a seasonal vignette, which was a fun place for us to fill! We were also able to add colorful vignettes above the coat racks at these locations, as it out of reach of little hands. At the Spring Park location we created a beautiful display behind the reception desk above the cabinetry, so as to be out of the way for clinic staff, yet enjoyed by all.
In December the SCR team returned to add sparkle and shine for the winter months ahead. The grapevine wreaths were switched out from fall to winter with ice skates and mittens along with other activity ornamentation and winter accents. In the secondary waiting area of the Minnetonka location, we hung mirrored garland and snowflakes from the ceiling as a bit of whimsy.
Using wintry evergreen and pinecone garlands, stems of snow white and glistening shine with a few reindeer and snowmen mixed in we created a lovely winter wonderland in each clinic. We also created vignettes above the cabinet in Spring Park and added snowflakes above the fish tank. Over the coat racks and fish tanks at Minnetonka and Chaska vignettes of winter sparkle were placed, to complete the feeling of winter.
Watch for the change in March as the Su Casa team will return once again to bring a breath of Spring to the WCC clinics!.
